This was from my North Road series, a series I loved painting. My son Tim was tree planting in Dryden, Northern Ontario and I was missing him. He sent me a photo of what he woke up to when opening his tent in April, a beautiful downfall of light snow had fallen overnight and it was stunning. I initially thought his photo was not real, the composition was "postcard like".

I needed to paint it. I kept going with this series up until 6 paintings, all different angles and takes on the snowflakes landscape.
