Oil on Canvas

This painting is inspired by a beautiful story. My dear friend’s father had a goal to hike Via Ferrata on Mount Norquay with his four grandsons. He successfully did this at age 75 giving both himself, and his grandsons, a long lasting memory.
I love this quote by George Eliot, “Adventure is not outside a man; it is within." This is exactly what inspires me and motivates me to bring these stories to life and hopefully capturing the beauty of both the landscape  snd the story behind it. I stayed true to the colours that I love, that I see, and that are within me.
The beauty here, is that this man revisited and hiked it again at 80-years old, becoming the oldest man to ever hike the trail. George Eliot quite hold true to this gentleman.
