#625 Summers Ago
Oil on Canvas
I painted this during Bell Let’s Talk Day. It is a trying time for humanity right now with the cold, grey winter days and stay at home orders in place. Not being able to see loved ones and so on.
I pulled out some of my old photos and found this one from the nurses canoe trip of 2013. My daughter Emily led 10 of us on a five day canoe trip in Tenagami, a place dear to my heart because of Camp Wanapitei. Painting this now was comforting, soothing and brought me back to that amazing memory. Having places dear to your heart painted on canvas is a treasure to me. I love the happiness, the mood and refreshing colours that warm summer day brought.
