Tom Thomson Lake, Algonquin Park - Oil on Canvas

I’ve been drawn back to this photo several times this spring and summer and have painted it completely different each time. It’s been part of my Strong and Free series as we continue to battle through this global pandemic. This reminded me of just stopping, stop paddling while canoeing alongside this iconic Canadian lake, and embracing the moment in front of you. The enchantment and colours in a summer forest fills you with peace and tranquility, so it’s ok to slow down and just stop.
